INNER-SANCTUM

In March 2021, I had the privilege of carrying out a wonderful renovation of the café area for the Reade care centre. Here, I designed a wide-ranging concept, whereby the well-being of the patient was the focus, using the interior to create a connection between people and nature. It was important to me that the rehabilitating patient or visitor would find themselves in a whole new atmosphere, where they would feel comfortable and at ease.

The former outdated old “brown cafe” has been transformed into a contemporary coffee and tea bar, called Boon & Blad. We have managed to achieve a wonderful result by using only natural and sustainable materials combined with a calm colour palette.

The renewed health and food concept, with its focus on recovery through a nutritious diet, was executed in this instance by Wester & van Doorn and has been fully integrated into the interior.
