In October 2020, I finished a lovely and multifunctional family home in the heart of Amsterdam. As you enter, there’s the beautiful hallway with the authentic marble staircase, fitted with a made-to-measure coat rack. The other side of the walls are covered with ultra-strong wallpaper, which is both kid-proof and hard-wearing. We custom designed the kitchen together with the client. A small herb garden in the raised natural stone block next to the cooking area creates a fine partition between the dining room and kitchen. Next to the window, we created a cosy niche where the residents can retreat, but still remain involved in everyday family life.

In the lower level, where the living area is located, we made a fantastic room divider between the children’s room and the living room. The wall is made of solid oak wood slats. In this way, you do not completely close off the room and you can still keep in touch with each other. We were also able to incorporate the concealed door to the toilet stylishly and discreetly.
